MPMA on DEFRA’s Deposit Return Scheme
The Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association (MPMA) has commented on DEFRA’s recent announcement regarding its Deposit Return Scheme (DRS).
The MPMA says that it welcomes any move which reduces the negative impact of packaging on the environment.
The Association also contributed to the initial DEFRA call for evidence relating to DRS, and is committed to engaging fully in the planned consultation ahead.
The MPMA will continue to support its industry partners as well as the government on a redesign of the current UK packaging producer responsibility (PRN) system.
